The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches

Best of Breed Competition

Undefeated dogs ONLY are eligible to compete for Best of Breed
**Amateur Owner Handler (effective 1/1/2009)
Chapter 3, Section 7—The Amateur-Owner-Handler Class shall be for dogs that are at least 6 mos of age that are not champions. Dogs must be handled in the class by the registered owner of the dog. This class is restricted to exhibitors who have not, at any point in time, been a professional dog handler, AKC approved conformation judge, or employed as an assistant to a professional handler. Additionally, members of the immediate family or household of a current professional handler are ineligible for this class (as defined in Chapter 11, Section 13).


NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES
(same classes offered for bitches)
Veteran Dog Class  –A Class for Dogs seven (7) years & Older.Veterans are eligible for Best of Breed & may be spayed or neutered.
Working Dog Class – Open to Dogs that have earned an AKC Earthdog Title of Record. Dogs must be intact. Winners of this class are eligible to compete for Best of Breed.

NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES
As the judge’s decision in the Non-Regular Classes involving Multiple Dog Entries is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes.
STUD DOG CLASS – For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered individually in a regular or non regular class, or if a Champion of Record in Best of Breed Competition, but MUST be entered in the Stud Dog Class, the Get MUST be entered individually in a regular or non regular class. The Stud Dog shall be considered as one entry and requires one entry fee, this being the regular fee plus the additional class fee if the Stud Dog is entered in another class. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged on the merits of the Get.
BROOD BITCH CLASS – Same as for the Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get.
BRACE CLASS – Two dogs of the same Breed or Variety of Breed with one or more common owner and both dogs must be entered individually in a regular or non regular class. and be presented by a maximum of two handlers.
TEAM CLASS – A Class for four dogs of the same Breed or Variety of Breed with one or more common owner and all dogs must be entered individually in a regular or non regular class and presented by a maximum of four handlers.
BREEDER CLASS—A multiple entry class consisting of 3-5 dogs of the same breed. All dogs must have least one breeder in common who must be present to accept the award. The individual dogs comprising the entry must be from at least two different combinations of parents, but need not be owned or handled by the breeder. Each individual dog must be handled by its own handler. Each dog must be entered individually in a regular or non regular class. The entry fee will be submitted by the Breeder who is entering the Class, along with the appropriate entry form.
BEST OTTER HEAD – This class is held after the show is over in the Breed ring. Any dog that is entered in any specialty even may enter the ring to be judged by the Conformation Judge for Best Otter Head. This is one of the BTCA’s most prestigious awards & we invite all to participate at no charge.
There will be competition for Best Bred By Exhibitor, Best Veteran & Best Working.

NOVICE JUNIOR CLASS – For Boys & Girls at least 9 and under 12 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.

This trophy is a statue of Eng/Am CH Workmore Waggoner WC done by Richard Chashoudian & offered by the Estate of the late Kate Seemann. The Bronze was commissioned by Kate Seeman & was designated to go to Kate Murphy upon the death of Kate Seemann. It seems very appropriate that this symbol of the strong friendship between two “old time” mentors who gave so much to the breed & Club should be awarded to the Best Veteran at the Border Terrier Club of America Inc. National Specialty.
